Ed saved me a boatload! After being told I needed a new system by another (way less ethical) company, Ed had us up and running for the price of a service call. He can diagnose anything and give you the information you need to choose the right solution. Don't call anyone else!

I've posted to my friends on facebook, but it's also time for larger shout out. Bear with me while I rave about Ed Cline and Rainbow Services Raleigh! We are fortunate enough to have 3 of our Raleigh homes under contract, and if you've sold a house, the inspection can be a nail biter...For each home Ed personally reviewed the inspection list and not only knows NC code so well, knew what was legit and what was "added fluff" on each report, but his work is fast and his work ethic and honesty can not be matched by any other contractor, home repair, HVAC person I've ever met. His prices are very reasonable. I have used him now 6 times for anything from AC tune up, diagnosing and then installing a new AC capacitor, to installation of a new heat exchanger, to numerous inspections on various homes. Did I rave enough? I don't think so. Ed is awesome. It was amazing for me to have such a great experience, especially since I now live almost 3000 miles away from the house he did work on. He is responsive to emails & phone calls and does not hesitate to contact with questions or updates. Invoicing is clear and easy to pay with various methods. Tell your local friends & family...need AC/HVAC work? Want the best? Here you go, you are welcome!


I have used Rainbow Services the past two times I've had trouble with my HVAC systems. Ed has been in the business for a long time and comes across as very knowledgeable, honest, and fair -- all qualities that are very hard to find in service technicians, let alone all 3! Ed's prices are fair, and he even included two coupon discounts ($20 each) on my invoice without me mentioning (or even knowing about) them. It's refreshing to work with a service technician who tries to find ways to help you out on the price instead of the all-too-familiar hidden costs and up selling techniques most people use. I strongly recommend Rainbow Services to anyone needing heating and/or AC work and lucky enough to be within Ed's coverage area. BTW - I have already paid for my most recent service visit, so I'm not getting a discount for writing a review. I just felt compelled to share my experience to help others who, like myself, rely on internet reviews for pretty much everything.

We have used Rainbow Services for approx. 2 years for our heating and AC needs. With two older AC units and LP heat, we have needed help on several occasions and replaced one AC unit to date. We trust Ed Cline to make recommendations that give us the best choices and that are in our favor as the consumer. He is highly knowledgeable, dependable, and trustworthy. Highly recommend. First of all, I want to give Ed and Rainbow Services MY HIGHEST POSSIBLE ENDORSEMENT. His expertise, professionalism and timeliness are unparalleled and he SAVED ME OVER $3000! I am a Realtor in Raleigh and I called one of the companies that we recommend and they have a very good reputation. They analyzed my system and told me the repair would be $1600, but I should probably just replace the entire unit for $3800, because there was no guarantee the repair would work. It was also going to take about 2 weeks before they could do the work. I decided to get a second opinion and looked online for someone. When I saw all the positive reviews for Rainbow Services, I gave them a call and I'm very glad I did. Ed came out the next day, diagnosed the problem, went out and got the necessary part and came back and FIXED IT THAT SAME DAY. Total cost was $800 and my system runs great. I can't thank you enough and assure you that I will recommend your services to every one of my clients and everybody I know. When I look on the back of Ed's card he left at my home, it says "You will be treated fairly, have your questions answered, and never pay more than you should." - My Personal Promise, Ed Cline. It seems that everyone makes similar claims these days and promises their customer service, loyalty, etc. In Ed's case, he stands behind it and you can believe every word that statement makes. I can assure you my endorsement does not come lightly. When I recommend someone to my clients, it is very important that they will be pleased, because it reflects poorly on me if they're not. This is one professional I will always recommend with 100% confidence.

Our AC went out sometime last summer, and I googled "AC Repair 27615" and Rainbow Services came up. Based on the other positive reviews, I decided to call and Ed was able to come out that same day. He had to replace a fairly substantial part (can't remember exactly what it was at this point), but the price was very reasonable, especially for the quality of the service. Since then, I've had to call Ed back twice - both were for very minor repairs/replacements - and both times Ed came through with fast, reliable and affordable service. I would highly recommend going w/Ed and Rainbow Services for any and all HVAC service and repairs.

Ed Cline is awesome! My A/C went out yesterday and Ed showed up first thing this morning. He had it fixed in less than an hour. This is the second time I have had Ed Cline work on my A/C system in the past 3 years. This time was due to a lightning strike.
